Description
Fettercairn 28 year old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Our award-winning 28 Year Old Highland single malt is matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and is a tribute to our treasure trove of aged whisky. Since Sir Alexander Ramsay established the distillery in 1824, we’ve been going to extraordinary lengths to capture the purest expression of our whisky’s character. Located in the foothills of Scotland’s Cairngorms, we don’t just use crystal clear mountain water as an ingredient; we drench our stills with it, cooling the copper so only the finest vapor rises. ABV 42%
Fettercairn 28 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a rare expression from one of Scotland’s most historic distilleries, established in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay. Nestled in the foothills of the Cairngorms, Fettercairn is renowned for its innovative use of a unique copper cooling ring, which enhances the purity of its spirit. This exceptional whisky was distilled on May 8, 1973, and matured for over four decades in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a four-year finish in 40-year-old Tawny Port pipes.
On the nose, this whisky offers a complex bouquet of over-ripe bananas, toasted bread, citrus fruit, plum, raisin, bitter chocolate, fig, and spice. The palate reveals rich flavors of spiced pear, coffee, caramelised orange, liquorice, black cherries, and treacle, culminating in a finish of plum, demerara sugar, and chocolate. Its depth and complexity make it an ideal accompaniment to dark chocolate desserts, aged cheeses, or enjoyed on its own to fully appreciate its nuanced character.
A very rare small batch release aged in Amercian white oak ex-bourbon cask , and enhanced by hand picked Tawny Port pipes.
