Description

Palmer & Co. Amazone de Palmer, Champagne

It is in its emblematic Premier and Grand Crus vineyards of the Montagne de Reims that Palmer & Co. selects the Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs that will be used for the blend of Amazone de Palmer, the house’s iconic prestige cuvée.

The art of blending is taken to its highest level : the Cellar Master selects wines from three exceptional years and enriches them with a proportion of Chardonnay from a Solera started over 30 years ago, to reach the perfect balance. Committed to the protection of this remarkable natural legacy, Palmer & Co. has developed an eco-responsible gift box evoking the chalky soils and generous nature.

Founded in 1947 and historically established in Reims, Palmer & Co is solidly rooted in the greatest terroirs of the Montagne de Reims. Dominated by the freshness and purity of Chardonnay, the Palmer & Co style seduces by its precision and elegance. Recognized throughout the world for the excellence and elegance of its wines, Palmer & Co is one of the top quality references of Champagne today.

A new prestige cuvée from Palmer, the debut release of the NV Brut Amazone is a blend of the 2012, 2010 and 2009 vintages, complemented by some 19% reserve wines drawn from a perpetual reserve, and it’s equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all from the Montagne de Reims.

Offering up aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, freshly baked bread, crisp nectarine, oyster shell and subtle hints of the biscuity complexity to come, it’s medium to full-bodied, pillowy and seamless, its fleshy core of fruit girdled by ripe but racy acids and complemented by a pearly mousse.

Disgorged last year with six grams per liter dosage, it’s an impressively complete, well-structured wine that will be even better with a few years on cork.”(WK 1.22)
